Small Business Breakfast "Employment Law"

On Friday March 30, 2012
The Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce held a Small Business Council Meeting at the Colonia Country Club at 8am. The topic was "Employment Law" presented by Dominic Bratti and Beth Hinsdale-Piller from Wilentz Goldman & Spitzer. This had to be one of the most informative breakfast we have had. The topics that were discussed were:

·         How can I control the use of social media at my workplace?

·         What are the new posting requirements concerning employee rights?

·         How should I handle discrimination allegations?

·         Can I still conduct criminal background and credit checks on new hires?

·         How do I deal with a possible union election in the wake of sweeping federal changes?

Some of our members had some positive feedback they wanted to share to those who did not attend.

Anne Marie Almasi
President of Almasi Companies, Site Work Specialist
"This morning I attended an important seminar given by Wilentz Goldman & Spitzer on Employment Law. Among many other things, I learned vital information on controlling social media in the workplace, and practical procedures to follow to ensure employee termination without legal ramifications. Dominick Brady and Beth Hinsdale-Piller were concise and factual. I'm looking forward to part two."

Glenn Slavin, Esq
Law Office of Slavin & Morse
"In all my years of sitting through breakfast speakers, this morning was one of the best. I feel as though we could've listened all morning on employment law issues from Dominick Bratti & Beth Hinsdale-Piller who do employer side representation."

Ray Zirpolo
The Club at Woodbridge
"One of the best breakfast presentations. I learned so much new information. Can't wait for the part two presentation by Dominick Bratti and Beth Hinsdal-Piller"
